Japan’s No.1 Imoni festival will be held on 20th, September, 2026.
What is Imoni?
Imoni is a traditional dish not only in Yamagata but also in the Tohoku region.
There are some kinds of Imoni respective areas.
In other words, its sauce and ingredients depend on the food culture of each area.
For example, soy sauce-based beef dishes are served in Yamagata city and some other regions.
Where is the Festival? (From JR-Yamagata station)
by Local bus
Yamagata-kotsu(UTORIA) runs buses every 30 min in the daytime.
At bus stop #4 at the east side of the station, getting on “C13” bus.
It takes about 10 min to get to the site.
And getting off the bus at the Fire-department (Shobosho-mae).
